Spice it Up/Quick and Easy Craft: Make a Doll Vanity Tray

Hi everyone! Today I have a very quick and easy doll craft for you to make. And it goes great with the "spice up your doll room" series because it is a pretty decoration that is also useful for your dolls!

We are going to make this doll sized vanity tray. It is super easy.

You will need: mirror paper, cardboard (not pictured), pretty silver or gold ribbon or bling on a roll, hot glue and glue gun, scissors.

Start  by cutting out an oval from your mirror paper. I cut mine about 4 1/2 x 3".

Then trace around it onto some cardboard.

Like so. Then cut out the cardboard.

Then glue them together. Don't use much glue at all.

Then just dab some hot glue along the cardboard and start gluing on your ribbon.

Glue all around, and trim off the excess. Put a dab of glue on the end to connect the 2 ends and to keep the ribbon from fraying.

That's it! Now you have a pretty vanity tray for your dolls that will really spice up your dolls room!

You can put your doll's jewelry on it, or her make up or hair stuff.

I hope you enjoyed!

  1. That's really cute! Could I just cover a piece of cardboard in tinfoil instead?

    1. Well you could but foil gets too wrinkly so it probably wouldn't look like a mirror unless you can keep it really smooth. :)

  2. That is such a great idea! I don't use much hot glue, do you think Elmer's Glue or Aleene's Tacky Glue will work?

    1. Thanks Ewish! You can use it, but you'll probably have to hold it on for a little longer. :)
