Craft: Make a Doll Sized Pocket Portfolio

Hi! Before I show you today's craft, I want to remind you to enter the giveaway for a bunch of back to school items for your doll, including a backpack, complete outfit, and more. Click here to enter.
Well, today was my first day of school, but it was only a half day. And I don't know about you, but one of my school supplies is a portfolio/file folder with pockets. So I decided to make one for my dolls!

Here is the finished portfolio.

You will need: a q-tip container that opens from the top, a small bead, stretchy string, glue gun/glue stick, and vellum or cardstock (not pictured)

Start by removing the q tips from the container.

Ask your parents to help you with this step: Make a small hole in the "lid" to put the string through. My mom helped me by using a knife. Notice that it is above the part that clamps to the other part.
Do that on both sides.

Now take the stretchy string and poke it through the hole you made.

Tie a double knot, and trim off the excess.

Pull it through the other side now, and pull it all the way until there is no extra string loose, then tie another double knot.

See here, there is no loose string.

Now glue a small flat bead on.

Now for the pockets/dividers, I just took this place mat that my mom found on clearance after 4th of July, and it looks sort of like vellum. She bought it to save for a craft project, and finally it is being used! You could use scrapbooking paper too. I like this placemat because it looks AG-ish. :)

I cut several pieces to fit into the portfolio.

Then I took the purple trim and cut some little strips for tabs.

I just taped them on.

That's it!

You can also just put paper in it if you don't want to add dividers.

Isabelle is all ready for school!

I hope you enjoyed!
Stay tuned for a photoshoot of Isabelle and Rebecca and a few photos of my trip to the AGPC!

Isabelle's shirt is from Minipparel, and her skirt is from Unending Treasures.
