Since school will be starting soon, I thought I should go ahead and post the second back to school craft, so you all get two crafts in a row! Today I am going to show you how to make mechanical pencils for your doll!

                                                               They will look like this.

Things you will need: wooden skewers, scissors, thin scrap craft foam in the colors you want (I had yellow), glue gun and glue stick, toothpicks, black marker or pen, and stir sticks or lollipop sticks in various colors.

First take some stir sticks or lollipop sticks and cut them down to size. Make sure they are scaled to fit American girl.

Take a wooden skewer and color the pointed tip black.

                                                               And then cut it off.

Put a dab of glue on the end of your stir stick or lollipop stick.

While the glue is still hot carefully place the black point on.

Then take your foam and color some of it black if you do not have black.

Cut the black strip out the size to go around the tip of your pencil.

Then glue on leaving a little space on the top. (The space will be your eraser.)

Now cut about a 1 inch by 1 inch piece of foam for your gripper.  You can trim off the extra foam.

                                                                     And glue on.

Now you take a toothpick and color it black,

Cut it

And glue it on.

                                                             Here is your pencil!

I made a set of three.

I hope you enjoyed the craft!
